Rare Ancient Tasso dZi. A fine looking ancient dZi bead with the Tasso or Horse Tooth design. It displays a very nice dark brown wavey stripe against an ivory cream coloured body and dark brown ends. The Tasso motif is often compared to a wave or the stripe of a Tiger. This bead is barrel shaped making it perfect for adding to a mala or stringing with other Himalayan beads. The surface and ends are polished smooth from rubbing against the skin and other beads for many centuries. Origin: Private Collection – Sourced in North India in the early 1970s. Size 16.55 mm x 8.85mm. Condition: Mostly excellent with minor weathering commensurate with age. No breaks or repairs. Any surface blemishes are always much more noticeable in enlarged photos.
