ANCIENT AGATE FOUR STRIPE DECORATED MEDICINE BEAD circa + or – 2000 YEARS OLD. A highly collectible large oblong decorated agate with four equatorial stripes and weathering commensurate with its great age. Excessive age wear to each side of the bead holes. This is an extremely well worn heirloom bead + or – 2000 years old. This is a powerful bead and would have been a centre bead on a necklace. For use in traditional medicine, as was the belief of the Tibetan people. Although smooth their are flat zones where the medicine cure bead would possibly be stood on a statues open hand or on an offering plate. It was believed that this type of bead had the power to bring healing to those afflicted and was used in traditional medicine for healing all ailments. This is a very ancient authentic decorated dzi bead and would be a top bead in any collection at a great price. Feel free to make reasonable offers. This ancient A gate bead displays amazing b rown Black and decorated white banding and is known as healing/cure Dzi bead. This lovely looking Agate eye bead displays excellent patina and wear commensurate with age and cultural belief. It has four white decorated bands on the black/brown agate and would have been selected for its aesthetic beauty and power. It would have been an heirloom bead passed down from one generation to another. The bead has a hole running through both holes are. Worn from ancient use. It measures 2.6 cm in long 2.1 cm in diameter approximately. In good collectable condition. Condition: Mostly Very Good. A robust bead with minor.
